I love to say that “I am an Educator at Heart”.

Since I was a little girl my favorite game was “La escuelita”. I could spend hours playing that game, accommodating my class, talking to other teachers and also teaching class to all my dolls.

I definitely studied what I love, and have dedicated my whole life to Education, which is my passion. Babies, children and young people have been my inspiration through everything I do. I have always loved academic environments and keep studying. My university studies have an element in common, since all the Baccalaureate, the Bachelor, the Master and the Doctorate are in Education.

At age 24, I started the most exciting and challenging adventure of my life when I created Saint Gregory School, and I have always said that the Institution is my third child, because I love and care for it as one more.

When my children were young and studied in Saint Gregory, my mind could not stop thinking about the great responsibility I had with them, the other students and with the parents. Andrea and Esteban graduated from SGS and are now professionals.

Today with a more mature view, I feel that my efforts have tripled to make Saint Gregory a better institution every day. It also fascinates me making our slogan a happy reality, and that all students, including my grandson Rodolfito, receive “The Best Heritage “.

My life has been complemented by God and my beloved family. In addition, in my free time I dedicate myself to do oil paintings, one of my favorite pastimes, reading and interior decoration.

I sincerely feel as a fulfilled and happy woman, and I give infinite thanks to God for that.

My educational background is from Oregon, USA, my home state.  I graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelors of Art in English Literature and a minor in Art History.  Art History was my love, but it did not make sense to have only a degree in that area so I focused on literature.  After graduating I moved to New York City to look for work and to experience big city life.  After a year there I returned to Oregon and enrolled in an English as a Second Language teaching certification at Portland State University so that I could travel the world and teach.  It made perfect sense in my young mind.  My professor suggested that I complete my teaching practicum in Costa Rica at the Centro Cultural in Los Yoses.  That teaching job changed my plans regarding traveling the world.  However, my Tico husband had the opportunity to study in England so I did have the opportunity to teach there before returning to Costa Rica.  I decided to study for a masters degree in Educational Administration as a way to grow professionally, and I have to say that I love my profession.  Working with young people and orchestrating the educational processes in all its complexities is truly fulfilling.
